Thanks. "But why would you want to convert?" I have and load for a Ruger RSM Lott, and have been offered a Safari Express in 458 Win Mag. Contemplating taking it on, but was just wondering about the practicality of a conversion.

What does one need to do to a current Winchester Safari Express is 458 WinMag to convert it to 458 Lott? Is it as simple as just reaming the chamber? Is there more that HAS to be done, or NEEDS to be done? Thanks.

Agree, interesting topic. I have read that the original Colt 1860 Army revolvers used gain twist.
