Apparently it was from a collector who passed...a young guy bought it fired 1 shot (oouch) and sold it quite fast.. lol.. to me last year. Mint condition. First mod was throw solid Ruger pad far away...and a lovely soft Kickeze...

The Bastardization Of The Term Dagga Boy

African adventurers.. we all have varied opinions on trophy Buffalo, and dugga bulls.. ideal sports cars or best 4x4... we all get to decide before we take the shot. Many of us from overseas will call mature or aged or old Buffalo as dugga bulls no matter what the various scientific definitions...

458 Lott instead of 416 Rigby?

Yep, send me a load please. More hunters are using our rifles nowadays, have 375H&H, 404 Jeffery and 416 Rigby rifles... getting 2x 458WM rifles for Buffalo camp. I just spoke to Adam one of our guides, his load is a 480grainer, with Benchmark 2 powder for 2100fps.

458 Lott instead of 416 Rigby?

Back to look at this post... Great comments everyone., and the offers for axel to go try a rifle are awesome. Plenty of good advice.. some bigger guys can handle anything... and its technique. I used to have a 500Jeffery I had made by Sabi in RSA on a Vektor action, almost 11lb, and with a...

458 Lott instead of 416 Rigby?

I'm not a big chap, and only medium muscled. So a 404Jeffery or 416RM I find comfortable to shoot a few at sighting or practice.. and hunting no problem. So accuracy and shot placement is alway very good. The 416 Rigby cartridge I have use mostly, over 26 years, is fat and lots of powder and...

    1986 Land Cruiser Safari Truck

The 1957 Series 1 Land Rover pics I posted above.. is actually underneath all a 1991 Toyota Hilux., except for LR panels. About 9 years ago I bought a cheap dented Hilux twin cab petrol 4x4, took off all the body except for floor plan, firewall, inner guards and grill. Then I shortened the...

For those that can't afford the Rigby Big Game or Heym Express, What's the next best thing?

Ive owned a bunch of CZs, love em all. Good mag capacity, action not too bulky, mount system great. Most got custom stocks, or slimmed down and refinished. Most got a barrel band. Bolts were polished with mag wheel polish to smooth up a bit. I personally prefer the factory CZ side safety, as it...

For those that can't afford the Rigby Big Game or Heym Express, What's the next best thing?

Great post Luederitz, Those 66 are stunning actions... well done. Nice cartridge that 416Ruger. I have a friend in NSW with a few M66... and I nearly bought a 375H&H here a year ago AUD$3000, should have. Best thing with the 66 and the Blasers, is the overall length, shorter than others, but...

    A 404 Jeffery I have inherited

Yes .. that pad definitely has a story... lol.. I once tried to move my father in laws 338 Tikka but it was stuck to the floor... sat a few months, and the "Sorbacoil" pad had 98% melted into the carpet... left a 9" round sticky puddle. Left behind on the rifle butt was a sticky block...
