For hunting Africa I like a shorter barrel. You lose something like 25/fps per inch. What would that matter on 100 yd shots on big game?
Whether scrunching through the Jesse in Zim or navigating the nasty willows in Alaska a shorter barrel is welcomed!
I agree with hunting first and then the train. It sounds like such a neat experience. It would depend on Rovos and their rules for carrying firearms on the train. If they do then I don't think there would be a problem. There are so many options for a hunt it would be hard to make a...
Don't listen to the naysayers. Get a good TA that knows the rules, have plenty of time in Sydney to jump through the hoops, and go hunt with your guns! The more we fly with guns the easier it is for others.
Thank you for serving your local Chapter of SCI! It is fantastic all the good work our chapters are doing. SCI is on a steep upward trajectory right now and chapters are a big part of it. I am VP of the San Angelo Chapter and really enjoy serving. If I can be of help to you in any way feel free...

Tanzania is quite complicated. What you are asking for is a PG hunt in Massailand. I did this very hunt a few years ago with Michelle Mantheakis and highly recommend him. He had a PG 10 day special that I jumped on. Be prepared, Tanzania is terribly expensive. I priced this hunt for 10 years...
After so many trips I finally found out the answer to your question. When I get on the plane I set my watch to Africa time and attempt to sleep accordingly.
