For buffalo I like the 416's a lot more. I have 416's in both Remington and Rigby. It really depends on what you can shoot well.
I do know this, all four of the PH's that I've hunted buffalo with... had big preferences for 416's over 375's.
By the way, I think buffalo hunting is awesome also. However, getting inside of 15 yards on a bull elephant is the most exciting hunting experience that I have had.
I handled several Dakotas in 416 at the Dallas show last weekend. I really liked the feel and finish to these rifles.
I was curious how owners of these rifles feel about them.
Thanks!!!
Assuming same rifle models, how does the recoil on the 404 Jeffery compare with the 375 H&H and 416 Rigby.
I already have a 404 Jeffery, and really like it. A friend of mine is looking to buy his first big bore rifle, either a 375 or 416. He has shot my 404 Jeffery, and handles it well...
I am looking at a couple slightly used 416's rifles made by Empire and Dakota. They are configured in a very similar manner, LOP, weight, barrel length, wood quality...
Which makes a better rifle, Empire or Dakota?
Thanks for your feedback.
