Your 2025 Hunt Plans?

In April will be in Hungary for roe deer, and then Canada in June for northerns and lake trout.

HNY everyone.

My 2025 plans:

Goat
Pheasant
Partridge
Magpie Geese
Pigs
Water Buffalo
Roe Deer
Muntjac
Sambar

I'm starting to get bored with myself, because of family situations that are keeping me home, but:

- the DSC is coming to Atlanta next week, so you never know what might happen, and I'm prone to taking non-well informed chances (that have all worked out well, at least, so far...)
- trophy whitetail deer in Alabama
- will probably apply for random draw for elk in Wyoming in fall of 2025. Less than 9% chance of being drawn, but you never know.
- might try for "across the counter" elk in Colorado and fight the crowds. (I'm not afraid to walk a stupid distance, to shoot something, and deal with the consequences later)

I forgot about those "Super Tags" I bought from Wyoming!
Mountain Goat
Bighorn
Moose

10th trip end of May . We are celebrating our oldest son graduating from MSOE ( Mechanical Engineer ) and our youngest from high school. It’s been 6 years since the last trip. I can’t wait to be back on African soil. I am back searching this site for all the valuable info you all provide . Flights this year on delta through Atlanta . Mr X and a night at Afton . Flight to Kimberly on Airlink and staying with our great friends at Magersfontein safaris. I wish you all a productive and safe 2025.

February can be to early for brown bear hunting. Until 2016 the hunting season started from 15 of March. In some part of Romania bears are active after that…
Thank you for that!

Regular stalking throughout the year in the UK for Fallow, Roe, Muntjac and Water Deer. A bit of fly fishing too. An Oct trip to the east cape and hopefully off to Slovenia for Chamois Nov / Dec time.

Looking at a possible Boston Sea Duck hunt. I’ll have my two annual fly fishing trips to the Arkansas River also. That’s about all I can squeeze in with my work schedule.

Stop caring about work. I'm halfway serious about that.

Bezoar Ibex (Turkey) in Feb
Leopard (Namibia) in July
Chamois (Croatia) in November

Going to be a good year!
how was the ibex trip

this year in 7 days I leave for buff in the east cape with a few culls. then maybe start fishing again (the boat hasn't left the barn in 10 years) then deer, pheasant and geese at home in So Dakota and find time to go back to work to pay for an elephant hunt in 2026 and keep my wife happy. She says I need to work to help pay for the hunt and that I will appreciate more but I tell her I won't. I have been retired for 13 years.

We're headed to New Zealand in about 3 weeks.. wife will be chasing tahr.. if time permits, I'll go for a red stag..

South Africa in September to attend a PH course.. while there we'll also do a little hunting.. probably a few culls to donate meat to a local orphanage we support, and maybe a trophy animal or two.. nothing specific on the hit list.. just going to enjoy seeing our friends and spending some time learning new things.. after that the "hunt" part is just gravy for us this time around..

Standard year planned for CONUS hunting.. we'll spend some time in the deer woods in the fall.. will go after pigs 3-4 times through the winter spring, summer, and early fall (before deer season opens).. will likely give turkey a go at least one weekend during season.. and while out on our property just tooling around, small game (squirrel and rabbits for the most part) are always an option..

We had talked about spending some time on our Colorado property this year and potentially chasing elk (our unit still has OTC tags).. but I don't think we're going to have the time available to do anything serious out there.. between the 2 weeks we're taking for NZ, and 2 weeks we're taking for RSA, and the time we'll need to take off for other endeavors (we'll also be spending several days in the Dominican Republic in the fall, and have a few other shorter trips planned around the US), I just don't think a week or two in CO is in the realm of possibility this year..

March 25th 2025 my Suni permit finally was approved in the KZN.. Started the process in January.
The Suni will be #10 to complete my Tiny Ten. Kudu (I have two) but May is Kudu rut and will look for something special, Vaal Rhebok is also on the list.
May 1st I fly out of Aberdeen, South Dakota for #16 safari.
I have a turkey tag for April. The usuall WT (archery is a given), Pronghorn, elk if tag is drawn, pheasants, ducks, geese.
Good luck to you all!

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
