Best Dallas Customs Clearing Agent / air vs ocean freight

That's the whole reason I was asking as I was told just the opposite - longer wait but cheaper?

Best Dallas Customs Clearing Agent / air vs ocean freight

Anyone have a good customs clearing agent in Dallas for taxidermy items from RSA? Or a good one at the gulf of Mexico if we go ocean freight? Also, would air freight be the best or since we've waited nearly two years already, ocean freight would be cheaper. Thoughts/Opinions/Resources?

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

I was able to communicate with Koos today. He responded that he shows my items were delivered to Eagle Eye Global in December (?!) He's supposed to reach out to them and find out and I've fired off an email to them as well. I double checked my SPAM folder, in box and deleted and nothing from...

Nice animals. We had a great PH - very understanding, patient and worked hard.

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

Yes, part of one of the responses to one of my queries (because I was told one thing and that turned out not to be the case) was that one of his "other taxidermists" fell behind and he had picked up my items and taken them to another. Then later I got the information about building the new...

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

That's what I thought. I keep wondering (almost hoping due to the time) if I'm going to get back complete european mounts and tanned skins, like there was some kind of mix up due to the time elapse.

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

To add insult to injury, they are not even DOING my taxidermy - just supposed to ship my skins and skulls - taxidermy to be done here. Why I'm having to wait nearly two years and then I'll have to wait another year when they get here, makes no sense to me. I realize I'm not "in the business" so...

    Tanzania in July

I may be able to get to Nairobi, Kenya in July and I'd like to try to get across to do a few days in Tanzania. I'm not sure if I have enough days as I understand there may be a minimum number of days. I'd also need to rent a rifle. If all this can work out I'd be interested in Kudu, Sable...

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

That is what I'm fearing. After a year I started asking questions and got that it was with the shipper. Got the shippers info and they said they didnt have it. Then was told they were mistaken, the taxidermist got way behind and it was picked up by Koos and taken to another taxidermist. 3 months...

SOUTH AFRICA: Kuche Safaris - Free State - August 2024

We hunted in August 23. Supposed to send skins and skulls here (US) for taxidermy, still dont have them. I've touched base with Koos himself and was given some reasons for delay including some new buildings, etc. but cant understand how that impacts items that supposedly were given to the...

Why would a trophy be "non" or "un" exportable?

Thank you all for your explanations and links. I understand it better now.

Why would a trophy be "non" or "un" exportable?

I've seen several hunt offers, buffalo seems to be the common thread, of non or un-exportable trophies. Why would this be - disease or some other restriction?

Small gifts for PH and tracker

I do leatherwork. Coming from Texas, I made and brought a couple of pancake knife sheaths with the Texas flag tooled in and matching folding knife for both my PH and tracker. I also gave a cash tip.

Importation or Transiting Procedures Through Countries with Weapons & Ammunition

Travelling from DFW to SA. Has anyone done this lately? Trying to get an idea on where to go first when I get to DFW with the rifle case in order to get it checked and checked in. Do I go directly to the Delta desk or is there a separate TSA firearms check in area?

    Howdy from DFW Texas

Definitely making plans to attend. I was there a couple years ago (may have been the last one before the lock down). I really enjoyed it and look forward to going back. Kuche Safaris are supposed to be there with whom I've got a hunt planned.

    Howdy from DFW Texas

Just a short intro to say hello. Lifelong dream to go to Africa and finally got a plan in the works. Lots of questions that I'm sure will get worked out by the time I get it all together. Long time hunter from a wee lad with a .410 tagging behind my father hunting rabbits, quail and dove, now...
