Hi AH Community,

We are in the privileged position where we are able to offer both brown and Spotted hyena in South Africa again for 2020.

In 2019 we were lucky enough to receive 2 highly coveted Spotted Hyena tags for our home base. And even more happy when we managed to fill both those tags. For 2020 we are yet again fortunate enough to be able to offer 2 Spotted Hyena hunts for 2020!! It's a great hunt and half the fun is gathering bait! The hunt will take place in the Limpopo province close to Botswana. We border a national park and the hunting area is fantastic! This is on our home base and no other people have access besides us.

The hyena are running at basically the price same as 2019.

Spotted Hyena Hunt:

5 days/6 nights
USD$4950 (EXPORTABLE)
AUD$6520 (EXPORTABLE)
EUR€4460 (EXPORTABLE)
CAD$6100 (EXPORTABLE)
All inclusive

The Brown hyena hunt will take place close to Alldays in the Limpopo province. We have a permanent bait site there and have at times seen 4 Brown hyena there at the same time! Its a hard hunt due to their erratic schedule which means long hours in the blind but the chances of success are very high. For the best chance at success it must be done after June.

What’s the hunt like? Are they skittish and constantly moving around? Are they shot under torchlight?
We normally use night vision which means we don't need lights which obviously makes for a calmer animal. Spotted Hyena generally move around a fair bit but pause often which gives you your chance. Brown hyena when they are committed on bait are very stationary of course which offers a good shot. We normally take the first opportunity we get as these are intelligent animals with keen senses so we don't allow for Murphy's law and nature to get the chance to mess the hunt up! Wind IS important! I hope that answers your question.

We still have 1 Brown Hyena tag left with a very high chance of success for the hunt! Feel free to message us for more info! Kind regards, Dempsey and Michael

Just to keep everyone informed with regards to this hunt - We are seeing a minimum of 2 Spotted Hyena kills on our home base a week! And those are just the kills we are seeing. Hoping we can do some numbers management soon as they are starting to rack up some serious kill numbers! We still have Spotted Hyena hunts available for 2020/2021 and we are 100% on them. As for our brown hyena we are having no problems getting them to come into bait at present. Just need some passionate hunters to come wait them out!

Kindest regards,
Dempsey Bayly and Michael Sippel

Would love to do a spotted hunt if only we could do it with a bow!

That is a huge pity that it is not allowed! But if you ever decide to hang up the bow for that one trophy feel free to contact us. We would still love to help you with the dream!

Kind regards,

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
