The Waterberg Pateau does not disappoint. The buffalo are incredible, my experience there was a trip to remember.

In addition to the buffalo the sable, roan, and leopards are world class. I wish my year wasn't already booked out.

Maybe I missunderstood, It looks like a 20.000 dollars buffalo hunt. Can we call that a hell of an opportunity? Maybe I am missing something but I think you can find lower priced wild buff hunts in many other places at a regular price (not even discounted or cancelled hunts

The quality of the outfitter and area lends to his offer being a good package.

And welcome to AH as I see this was your 1st post.

The waterberg is an incredible place, hunted it in 2009. This is a heck of an opportunity for someone to go on. will share with a few friends of mine.

Hi Dreamhunter73,

This is not your average buffalo hunting area. This is a national park where the government only grants us 10 buffalo tags every year. The buffalo trophy sizes would be considered some of the biggest in Africa, 8 of the top 10 in Namibia was shot in Waterberg National Park. It also gives the hunter the opportunity to hunt buffalo at close range (20-45yards) and experience traditional tracking through thick brush. The Waterberg area itself is something else as well. Our average buffalo size over the last five year is about 42". We normally sell these buffalo for almost double the price.

Kind Regards

I think @dreamhunter73 asks a reasonable question, especially for someone new to AH. There are many less expensive buffalo hunts advertised. Some for half this, and they would probably be pretty good. I have not hunted with Jamy Traut, and have never been on the Waterberg Plateau. Last year, I rode a motorcycle around it, and I have to say..........a hunt there would be a dream of mine. This will never be a cheap hunt, but the quality of the buffalo, the rep of the Operator and the area make this very much in demand. It is priced accordingly, and this is a real bargain. But to inquire about the difference between low end and higher end hunts is a fair question......and the operator gave a very honest answer......FWB

Thanks for your welcome fellow hunter. Nice to meet all of you here, its my pleasure.
Regarding this offer, I have been hunting a few years already and hunted buff several times in different countries. For me, the most important part of any hunt it is the hunt itself, meaning the effort you do to get your trophy in a wild open area. Quality of trophy it is a second priority for me and it is just important as it brings you the opportunity to keep on hunting looking for a bigger, more completed or older animal.
Regarding Buff, I know of several fellow hunters and many PHs who are eagerly looking for a really old bull, better if horns are already gone after a long life fighting. That kind of bulls will never be sized for the spread of the horns but for the difficult of find and hunt that old warriors.
For me, I can say you can hunt in several countries for bulls over 42 inches average and prices are way lower from what we are discussing here.
To hunt in a National Park, with the beutiful views you can get there, with a great operator and shoot a mature bull over 42 inches will be a dreamed hunt, of course. Will I pay 40.000 dollars for it? No way. Will I consider 20.000 dollars a bargain? Neither. But of course I understand market rules and myself I would love to hunt that place, but I can not afford to pay that for a Buff hunt. So, is not a bargain for me, but do not get me wrong, I respect the operator and the area and if I have lots of money I will be going there for sure.
Just take my comment as a poors man comment :-)

I just began last year filming my hunts. The lion hunt I did will be soon broadcasted in US (Hornadys Dark and Dangerous) and in Spain (Iberalia TV) but I also have just open my own youtube account where you can watch several videos regarding hunting and conservation of wildlife.
My intention is to spread the message that conservation and hunting is same thing and I will be using my last years of life for that. So, once that said, I again underline my respect for the outfitter and the offer as hunts like this you are offering here is what I call "real hunting" and is what we hunters need to show as a flag of how hunt is helping conservation of wildlife.

Unbelievable offer Jamy. Waterberg and Chobe are 1a/1b on my list for Buffalo. Sure wish I knew how our election is going to turn out here in the USA. Either our economy will get fixed or it will be time to batten down the hatches.

I believe African Sun Productions has a video on YouTube that takes place in the Waterberg. This would be a dream Buffalo hunt for me, but unfortunately out of my price range! Good luck to who ever takes advantage of this opportunity!

I hunted Ozondjahe in Namibia, near Otjiwarongo, in July-August 2022. Their high ground had a magnificent view of the plateau. I took leopard, Eland, Gemsbok, Impala, Zebra and Damara dik-dik...but gazed in the distance at Buffalo country. If I get back to Africa, it will be for Buffalo with Phillip Fourie. The Waterberg is a super premium Buffalo area, requiring a significant premium. Mike.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
