I have no idea what Greater Kudu yearly horn growth is by age but below is my guess. Hopefully, someone that knows will come along and post what it really is on average.

0” 9+yr
1” 8-9yr
3” 7-8yr
5” 6-7yr
8” 5-6yr

Maybe this illustration would help. It is from a book called "Wildplaas Bestuur" (Game farm management) by J du P Bothma. (p144 of the Third Edition)
Anyway, kudu horn length cannot be correlated to age, but the shape of the horns does correlate to the age of the kudu. In the picture below, its shows the shape at different ages (in months for those that cannot read Afrikaans), with the last two just stating middle aged to old and old respectively. This would be around 7 years for middle aged and 10 plus for old. Hope this helps.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that!

Clearly we want to hunt for old kudu bulls.

@Just Gina and I have a few Addax on our very small Texas ranch and this chart seems to be at least somewhat accurate to them also! As for pictures of shape anyway;)

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
