"Death in the Long Grass" by Peter Capstick is a fun read and one I think almost every first time African hunter has read for about 50 years.Taking my daughter to SA mid-May for her first safari. I have a shot placement field book, but looking for recommendations for books that might catch her interest quickly or shorter reads or from a female point of view.

West with the Night by Beryl Markham.
I’d add Corbetts book “The Maneaters of Kumaon “ to that. Awesome book, it set me on the trail of a Rigby 275.If that ain't the nail on the head. Awesome book.
I would also add Corbett's Man-Eating leopard of Rudraprayag. Having been deep in that book for a project, there is a LOT more to it than just the leopard - which makes it readable by a much wider audience.
