Picked up the new Model 70 super grade French walnut that was released at show show this year that has the CRF in .300 win mag. Will be hunting eastern cape what scope/ rings should I be putting on it?

Talley.

Clean look, strong as they come, no problems, great support.

Do you want the best or best reasonable? I think EAW/Recknagel are the best available. No need for them on a non-DG rifle. I would go with Talley as referenced above.

But once cry once but within reason

I put Warne QD rings on both my 30-06 plains game rifle and 404 Jeffery. They are good quality and affordable. Do your homework before picking out rings. Different manufacturers have wildly different ideas about what constitutes low or medium height rings. I would go as low as possible. The ring height will depend on clearance for scope bell and bolt.

I’m not sure if there is much, if any, of a quality difference between Warne and talley, but I find the levers easier to “time” on Warne rings

On a .300 I would go with Talley and not look back. On a DGR, would go EAW if you want the best (with QR/iron availability).
Good advice!

Actually this is a question I’m wondering if anyone can answer. Is there a difference between the two? I do prefer talley bases though. Maybe that’s their big selling point over Warne

I have Talley on 2-300WM's. If they fit the rifle, I basically don't use anything else.

If you want integrated, one piece rings, there is no better. My brother has them with a Leupold VX-5HD on a M70 from 2-3 years ago.

I exclusively use warne maxima or talley… the only exception is a REM 600 that I’ve got leupold bases and rings on…

Maybe .... warne permanent attached steel split rings .....

The top end Vortex rings (PMR) are in fact made by Seekins. They are very nice and I have two sets of them.

You could also also check out TPS rings. They have them in steel and aluminum I believe.

I have Talley rings on 4 or 5 of my rifles and never a problem. They are easy to work with, made in the USA and after sales support is excellent.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
