John Tred and Dean Archer. By the way, mom wasn't super excited about this pic when she got home.

I would like to show a few samples from my hunting during the 2009 season.

It started with a 7 days plains game hunt in RSA East Cape in April, here is the last one i got during this trip. (I have removed the PH, since i don`t know if he would like to have his face shown here...)

wildbeest.jpg

Later the same year the hunting season started back home to, so in September i got this one. Norwegian red deer.

hjort.jpg

One month later i got this gentleman in my scope. Norwegian moose. The dog, a Norwegian Elkhound is called Bill. :o)

elg.jpg

This last photo is taken on a hunting trip in the mountains where i was hunting grouse. This was in 2007. We use to have a basecamp at 1700m above sea, and the temperature is usually about -10 degrees celsius. It is really beutifully in the mountains this time of the year, but it can be a bit rough to.....

I agree Enysse, excellent Bushbuck

Bigbullet, How many inches?

Great bushbuck! A good bushbuck is very high on my list. I can only hope to do as well as you, BigBullet!

Thank-you to Jacques for providing this wonderful opportunity,
and to Jerome for his patience in teaching a complete Lud-light how to post pics.

Some of my modest contributions to follow.

To begin, this is my very first bull Tahr taken in some very rough country on N.Z's west coast.
My approach route was the steep rock face in back of picture !
The drop to the River below was close to sheer and in excess of several hundred meters.

Location; headwaters Maitahi River.

Wow Paul! I'm not sure which impresses me more the scenery in the Chamois pic or what it took to get to the Tahr. I know that Tahr would have never been in any danger from me!

Hey Phil, don't go getting no impression I'm any sort of moutaineer.

That day I took that Tahr it was close to freezing yet I was sweating like an inmate on death row !

I spent quite a bit of time hunting Tahr when I was younger and more agile. Awesome country, fantastic hunting.

Often in the right area, you can take both species on the same hunt, if your legs and lungs will allow.

My Cape buff, taken in Zimbabwe.

My first shot on this bull, off the sticks at about 90yds facing almost head-on, missed the heart by a couple of inches.
No follow up shot was possible in the mixed herd.

We tracked him, and one of his buddies for more than one and a half tense hours before jumping him from a patch up thick scrub.

He paused at 30yds whilst giving me a look that would melt Pluto.

Instinct took over and i put a solid through his shoulders that put him down for good.

Immense relief, following an intense tracking period.

My most treasured Trophy, irrespective of size.

Sable taken near Hwange.

To me the most impressive Antelope, at least that I have seen, on the hoof.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
