Help a guy out!

I think the current market for a sporterized '17 Enfield is $900-$1,000. However, very tough to evaluate it like this (online) - quality of work, condition of blueing, bore condition, etc., all can impact things significantly. Is the stock bedded? Pillars? Recoil pad hardened into a rock? To me the value would lie in using it to slay critters vs. being pretty. YMMV.

You could ASSUME it is .30-06, but that doesn't verify the prior owner(s) didn't have it re-bored to .35 Whelen, for example. Take a round of .30-06 and see it the bullet end fits into the muzzle - that would 98% mean it is .30-06 - only certain way is cerro-cast the chamber - a local gunsmith should be able to do that for you.

What does you think is better leave it as is sporterized or try and located an original stock for this gun?

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
