Pay It Forward-Free

Some years back FedEx was shipping radioactive materials to my NucMed dept. Once, when a procedure was cancelled and I tried to ship an unopened package back to the radiopharmaceutical company, it kept coming back to my dept with one or more boxes checked as to why FedEx couldn't ship it.

After the second time I called the local FedEx depot. After lengthy runaround, I finally got a super in the dept that handled hazardous stuff. I told him what was happening, that I was well versed on shipping radioactive material, and that there was nothing wrong with the packaging or my paperwork.

Indeed, I told him that since this particular package had never been opened, that if there was an issue with it, I should never have received it via FedEx to begin with.

He sighed and asked me to ship it to the depot with his attention. He said that some employees were so scared of screwing up and shipping something that they shouldn't, that they would mark something/anything wrong, return it to the sender, and hope that when it came back again, someone else got stuck with it.

Makes perfect sense. I'm betting that this is what's happening in most cases above. Scared to ship the wrong thing so they want to know specifics of a package.

It’s yours, PM me your address and I’ll get it in the mail.
Thanks I’ll pay you as soon as I get out of the hospital thanks

Nothing serious they found a half a slab of ribs and a Chicago deep dish pizza lodged in my aorta no big deal

Who has a older dog that has arthritis?

I have three of each of these I’ll give away for free and even pay the shipping! These are never opened, fully sealed from the manufacture, Joint and pain supplements that are very highly rated and cost $30 apiece!
I bought them for Charlie and he just won’t eat them?
So I have three of each that I’ll ship out to see if your dog will like them. I’ll send one of the pain and one of the joint care to the first three that want to try them.
Below is the manufactures description for them…

I'll try them on my dog. I have an old (12 years old, be 13 in Jul) German Shephard that she is fighting some serious arthritis. We have her on some Glucosamine pills and pain pills from the vet. Thank you!

Have you found a supplement that he’ll eat and helps his arthritis, CZ? If you haven’t, I’d suggest trying Phycox MAX. I had my Lab on it his last 4 or so years and it greatly improved the quality of his life. Cosequin, Dasaquin, etc. didn’t come close to providing the results I saw with Phycox. I could get Dasaquin for free at the time (customer of mine was a Vet Med rep) but the improvement on Phycox was degrees greater that it was a no brainer to spend the money for it. Regardless, hope Charlie is continuing to heal.

Phycox MAX

@BonUm16, thanks for that info. I'll order some too. The Cosequin we give her seems to help a bit, but the other meds she is on is for pain and seems to help but makes her sleepy.

It took 3-4 weeks of the initial dosing of Phycox before I really noticed how well it worked for him. He was close to 9 when I started him on it and continued with the daily dose till he passed just shy of 13. The occasional Rimadyl for days when he ran really hard were all he needed for joint pain up till the end.

Just like meds for humans, not every dog responds the same. Cosequin, Dasaquin or some other supplement may work better for your pretty girl, Para. My results with Phycox were such that I don’t hesitate to speak up as it is not one I read commonly suggested. As with CZ’s Charlie, I hope you find something that greatly improves her quality of life. We owe it to them.

My 11 year old lab mix has terrible arthritis making it hard for her to walk and go up stairs. Switching her to a grain free, low ingredient, meat based diet has helped some but I would love to try this out. Thank you!

I will pm my details.

One set left for a good dog in need!

The Pay It Forward-Free thread is a great idea. Especially when the person who is giving me a pair of Keen boots conveniently works four blocks from my office (it's a small world sometimes). Always nice to meet another AH forum member in person and chat for a while about our various hunting plans. I'm looking forward to hearing more about @Buckums upcoming trip to Zambia.

Thanks for the boots! (y)

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
