I have been to Canada at least a dozen times - probably closer to two dozen - and never had a bad experience. Canadian aviation security personnel and immigration agents have always been extremely competent and polite - something not always found at the end of a typical TSA or US customs que.

I’m willing to bet no one has had a worse experience entering Canada than we had bringing new boats into the u.s. for clients. We budgeted 15 grand for the damages. I’ve seen them go so far as to cut new still wrapped mattresses.

Sorry to hear of your bad experiences, I have been to Canada 3 times, not hunting just on vacation, we have been treated well each time.

The first 4 times were wonderful, 1 time in British Columbia, 2 into Ontario and once to Quebec. But that last time put me over the edge. All fishing or sightseeing, no hunting on the first 4 trips.

Some tourism but mainly hunting - all with my own firearms. Never an issue. Headed back next month for pike and lake trout. However, I definitely will not be wearing a MAGA hat.

That is a perfect example of the problem, when did it become ok for the president of America to spout of nonsense and lies with no one holding him accountable. Why does he get a pass? He’s speaking on behalf of you and every other American citizen, at the head of the largest military in world and has access to nuclear weapons but when he spouts off randomly you all just brush it off.

This seems to be a similar dynamic. Canadians feel that they are under attack. This doesn’t have to make sense to you, but it is their reality. The emotion you are seeing on this thread is indicative of what I saw with family and friends last weekend. And to be clear, these are very conservative folks. They feel that they are under attack and that Trump is in many instances over reaching his constitutional authority. This may not make sense from where you sit, but it certainly seems to be the reality on the ground.

That all makes sense, but it still doesn't answer why vote liberal to combat the "attack."

The best analogy I can think of is Canadians voting liberal instead of conservative is cutting off their hands because their toes have frostbite. ... yes, they should be mad about the frostbite and want to do something about it, but the action doesn't meet the situation from my very far away porch view.

In full transparency, I know nothing about the candidates, so perhaps there is a connection there that would explain why a conservative vote is a vote to cave to Trump (and therefore understandably why some wouldn't want to). It would explain the "Why" that I cannot currently grasp. I'm mostly just thinking of it as a Vote for more Trudeau policies, or the alternative.

Go on YouTube and watch a couple of the liberal attack ads they’ve been carfully edited to portray poilievre is such a way as to sound just like trump and quite skillfully done I might add. While at the same time liberals have run a very successful campaign building on carneys involvement in international business and banking and advertising him as the best one to negotiate anything with trump.

Add to that the poilievre has a fairly aggressive style of debating and routinely goes at reporters when the ask him leading questions. Also they pretty much dropped the ball on shifting quickly to dealing with trade issues and trump.

Now ask yourself what an uniformed voter who’s only interested in this election because of what he/she views as a threat south of the boarder is going to do, vote for a leader that everything they have seen makes him look just like trump ( about every third add on tv) or a quiet mild mannered appearing older man with a history of international finance and banking?

poilievre also wants to defund the cbc so he has had little help from the news cycles in Canada.

Actually getting my guns cleared was not a problem at all. It was them basically tearing my truck apart looking for excess amounts of alcohol and not allowing me to get my Chesapeake out of his crate and into some shade as it was a warm October day.

Yeah, we're both crazy in that regard, and for what? I watched Jim Shockey buy a nicely engraved and gold inlaid drilling at the Allen Cabela's when it first opened. I wish I had beaten him to it AND I wish I had therefore kept up with the deal--because it fell through when he could not get things straight to get it imported into Canada. Don't know if the complication was that it was a combination gun or what, but the deal fell through and someone else got the gun. What purpose is there for such complications. You would think that it would be easier from the US side, since we are more gun friendly, supposedly. But it is a near impossibility getting a gun from Canada sold/shipped to an American. Many a CZ shotgun or desirable rifle is out of consideration because the sale just cannot go through for the guns to her sold to a citizen in the US. Who is the winner in that scenario?

It’s not acceptable, it’s also not acceptable to potentially elect a prime minister that is a quarter billion in debt to the central bank of china like carney is and also not acceptable for Trudeau to run around in blackface and have questionable relationships with students as a teacher. None of these things excuse trumps actions two wrongs or ten wrongs still don’t make a right.

I get cold calls a couple times a week from Chinese area codes with a pre recorded message only words I can make out are poillivre and carney, china has definitely interfered in this election. Donald trump as also interfered in this election the difference is he did it publicly and had a far greater reach with his interferences.

We don’t need another liberal state. Trump doesn’t even realize he would loss the house and Senate immediately with Canadian liberal house members being elected. As usual Trumps mouth outruns his brain on this topic.
