Save Conservancy or Bubye?

Coutada 9 and 14 are both in Mozambique not Zimbabwe.

No dog in this fight since I haven’t hunted either block but speaking with some who’ve hunted in both I think I’d pick the BVC but you can’t go wrong with the Save. You might also want to chat with another PH or outfitter. I’ve never had to pay a 2nd daily rate on a second animal. If I book 14 days I pay the rate for 14 days and hunt what I want on my license and that could be multiples of some species
When it came time to decide between Save and BVC I asked my PH to decide since he had sent lots of time and hunts in both areas . He chose BVC .

I wouldn’t view a higher daily rate for a 2nd primary animal as a negative against an outfitter. It’s a business and quota is limited. They can sell two 10 day buffalo and PG hunts or charge someone a larger daily rate on the 10 days for two buffalo, otherwise they are missing out on significant revenue. Most outfitters for in demand areas will limit what you can take for pre-booked major species. However If the previous hunter is unsuccessful or there is end of season quota remaining then I’d expect to be offered additional animals at trophy fee only. Also as far as I’ve seen all PHs operate off the same price list in BVC that separates hunts into particular categories.

Hunted Bubye last July with Pete Fick and wrote about it. Read it to have feel for the area if you like.

Yes I can see a higher overall daily rate, and maybe it’s how I read the post (which could be wrong) but I took it as he needs to start paying a new daily rate for all the remaining days

Sorry maybe my wording was poor. If I hunt a second buffalo the daily rate changes for the whole hunt. The increase is 45% higher than the original rate for one buffalo.
I have found this same increase with another PH in the area but the increase is only 25%. And, the trophy fee is adjusted to the size of the trophy.

Yah, that’s common. You’ll find different outfitters/ph’s all have slightly different rates.

It all comes down to budget but I’m told the BVC is a remarkable area.

Nothing to add other than I hunted with Dalton in 2023 and he was fantastic. Would happily go back and hunt with Mokore and Dalton again, if only time and money were unlimited!

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.

I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).

Very interested.

Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?

I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
