Some of our brothers in South Afrika get together every year for a black powder era hunt. I drool over the pics every time I log on to the forum. So the thought occurred to me maybe we could start one here in the US. Im in Maryland and I do a lot of hunting in NW Pennsylvania. There are some good public grounds there. Im not sure about camping; but Im guessing its OK(?).

My idea would be for a few guys who'd like to do some hunting/camping with period "looking" gear/weapons.

Whos interested?

Im open to suggestions....

This is an old thread but I have to respond black powder is my favorite hunting. My dad makes rifles and period correct powder horns.
We have a small 10-12 guys who drive beer after Christmas we scare a lot of deer kill a few I have harvested 9 in my career and sometimes use my .54 cal pa long rifle in regular fire arms season.

Hi Shawn, Where are you in Pa? My buddy and I have a place near Gains Pa.

Driving beer doesn't sound as hard as driving deer... but it does sound a lot more refreshing....:D Beer Bottle:

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
